he Crucible is a research and consulting organisation that links sustainability, business strategy, innovation and science, with a strong industry focus.The founding Principals of the Crucible are Dr Joe Herbertson and Dr Les Strezov.
Our strategic reference point is the material foundations of a sustainable society. We bring together specialist expertise in the processing of mineral and metal resources with a fundamental systems approach to sustainability. We help our customers find ways to increase their capacity to create value relative to social or ecological impacts: business success without systemic harm.
We have a flexible and cost effective structure, where we work with Associates and an extensive network of alliance partners. We leverage the resources of Macquarie University in New South Wales and Deakin University in Victoria. We also have a laboratory in Newcastle and with our Associates, have access to an excellent range of metallurgical and analytical equipment. We adopt a user-friendly approach to IP management with our customers.
